Yuanda win One Blackfriars Road Façade PackagePosted: 29-09-2014
Yuanda were awarded the project in August 2014 and have now started the detail design of the impressive new tower building situated on the South Bank adjacent to Blackfriars Bridge. The development designed by Ian Simpson Architects comprises of a 52 storey residential tower, a 5 storey hotel and a 2 storey ancillary building.
This is the second major residential tower project Yuanda have secured with Brookfield Multiplex Construction Europe and St George South London.
The tower has a double skin façade of varying geometry with a SSG single glazed outer skin to give the project a sleek appearance. The inner skin forms the acoustic and thermal envelope and comprises of sliding doors, fixed vision glazing and opaque panelling.
The hotel building has a unitised façade to the upper levels with a combination of glazing, GRC and louvres screen at ground and first floor levels.
The ancillary building is predominately clad in GRC with some fixed retail glazing at ground floor level.
The façade works will start on site in the 3rd quarter of 2015 with completion due in early 2017.
